Original hand-bound grey cloth over plain grey boards, etching on upper cover. Dust wrapper with etched spine label. Presentation copy: "To my friend Mr. Watkins Feb 12 1945—Bernhardt Wall."

     Limited edition (#12 of 100 signed copies). Weber, p. 37: "The book reproduces an oration delivered by Dr. William Eleazar Barton (1861-1930) at New Salem, Springfield, Illinois, in 1926." The work first appeared in 1931, but according to Wall's postscript, "Since printing & issuing about 30 copies of this item, I find that the frontispiece-plate is missing. A new one has been made in this year of 1940. The edition in this state will number 100 copies." 70000057
