WALL, Bernhardt. The Odyssey of the Etcher of Books. Sierra Madre, 1945. 43 etchings (on 28 pp.), 23 signed by Wall. Various colored inks. 31.5 x 24.5 cm. (12-5/8 x 9-5/8 inches), heavy wove paper. Original hand-bound mottled brown and green calf, gilt-lettered spine.

     Limited edition (#1 of 50 signed copies). Weber, p. 44: "A miscellaneous collection of plates, including 'the best of poetry, prose and pictures' (1915–1945)." These are the plates which Wall considered his best and most representative work, including his dramatic large-size portrait of Lincoln, which is considered one of the top Wall etchings. In Walliana Wall describes the book as: "The best of my etchings in Prose, Poetry and Pictures, done in 30 years of the art of etching. This book is one of the most unusual of pictorial books." 70000035
