Chidwick (commander and chaplain of the battleship Maine) had with Theodore Roosevelt on Decoration Day, 1917, at Oyster Bay. Dedicated to Judge Edgar J. Lauer, 'whose friendship I value,' it illustrates the democracy of 'the universally-known man of the 20th century.'" According to Wall's Walliana (September 1938), this was actually his third published etched book, excluding the privately issued World War Notes. 70000023(1)
