N.p., 1903. 161 [1, blank] pp., 3 plates. 12mo, original grey pictorial wrappers printed in red and black. Spine worn and with a few small chips and writing in pencil, light edge-wear and small chip to fragile wraps, upper hinge and text block cracked (but holding), scattered foxing to and opposite lower wrap and plates, overall a very good copy of a fragile item.
     First edition. Adams, Guns 717: “Published by the author.... Rare.... Has a chapter on stage holdups.” Not in Rocq. The author records “thrilling or interesting happenings of the earlier California life” for future generations, including teamster stories, adventures in the gold fields, etc.
