With signature of Paul N. Spofford on upper cover and title page. A fine copy of a rare book that was never published. No copies at auction in over thirty years and only a few copies on OCLC.

A fairly straightforward, copiously annotated genealogy and biography of the writer’s father (1783-1862), who served in the Mexican-American War as an Army inspector, recruiter, and as part of Wool’s and Worth’s commands. He fought in the Battle of Buena Vista (pp. 49-56).
