This 1907 edition is often considered John T. Hughes’ work as the majority of the book is a reprint of his 1848 Doniphan’s Expedition, complete with all the illustrations and the map. Also included is Hughes’ diary dated August 17, 1847, and “Personal Recollection of Charles R. Morehead.” The work is supplemented by several appendices, one of which is an “Official Roster.”
